Drifter looks very interesting…Sedona is looking forward to it….Is it going to be in any festivals?
-
Any knows the name of the song?
-
The Song to THE DRIFTER trailer is “Carolina Drama” by The Raconteurs
-
It will be in the Ombok Bali festival (aug 19th), NY film festival (Sept 25th) beyond that dates still be locked in.
-
Looks great. seems like I will share a lot of things in common. Everybody needs to get away sometime to find answers…
good vibes from peru -
Sorry to repeat myself but is it gonna be released on Blue Ray too? I heard that it was being filmed in high def?
-
Also who else is on the soundtrack? Any of Rob’s music? Will their be a seperate CD release?
-
Rob has some tracks on there. We are working on logistics for a seperate CD with the dvd but dont know if it will happen or not.
-
if enough people ask for BLue Ray we will make it but right now its looking down the line. We shot it for that Blue Ray quality.
-
Hey Taylor, very cool trailer. We are looking forward to “The Drifter” here in Solana Beach. All the best to you and Sybil. Cheers, Will

[...] When Rob Machado’s movie Drifting first came out in 1996 it was like pornography for goofy footers. Now thirteen years later, the world’s favourite surfing golliwog is launching a new installment: The Drifter. [...]

Rob. you are awsome!
-
So when can i get my hands on this…
cant wait…
will we be able to buy it online? if so, when?
cant wait…
-
So is it just me or am I seeing a mix of Castaway and In God’s Hands revisited? I have to admit that the whole God beard while digging a hole in the middle of nowhere- floating slowly off into the distance is a little numbing. I think Rob is an amazing Surfer… but he’s no actor. God bless you Rob- I always knew Jesus would come back one day.

Super excited about the movie. I’ve watched the trailer about 10 times in a row now and just downloaded Carolina Drama.
To Eric-
Maybe you just don’t share the “drifter” mindset… I think anyone who has the inner need to explore would be moved by this… especially the line about dreaming about the perfect thing and then once you find it, you dream of something else… cause I’ve done that so many times before
-
[...] The Drifter Seems like an interesting concept and perspective on life … but it is probably a good thing that not everyone subscribes the inherent philosophy. Otherwise, capitalism, social media and consumerism as we know it would crumble. I’m not saying it would be a bad thing … it is just that if everyone is outside the box, the box ceases to exist. This looks like a real good movie
i can’t wait to see it
looks like a really good concept and i gotta say i’m really jelous of that lifestyle
i wish i had the money to travel around and drift from place to place finding waves -
To Eric above
i think your right rob machado is no actor
hes just being himself
ever think of that? -

sometimes i feel alone too. although it is not when camera men in helicopters and underwater scuba gear are filming me.

BLU-RAY.. Please.. I can’t ask for this enough. Releasing it on DVD is completely wasting all the beautiful cinematography that went into this. Please.. I would give body parts for this to be on Blu-Ray, and I guarantee you would sell a bajillion of them. Look at the only new surf movie out on Blu-Ray right now.. The Pursuit. It’s one of the worst surf movies I’ve ever seen.. period. boring as hell footage and poor production. But, even that is selling off the chain because they dually released it in Blu-Ray and DVD in the same jacket.

The thing is … they filmed him with one board bag… he has 3 boards, a film crew follows him. Some scenes are rehearsed…its not actual events that happen to him live.

Since admin said that if enough people ask for it in Blu Ray they you will print it on Blue… So here I am requesting The Drifter in Blu Ray… In my opinion Poor Specimen puts out the best surf films.. The shots captured are just always so amazing but could be THAT much better if on blue ray..
so do it

Amazing trailer. To a few people that mentioned acting, who watches surf films for the acting? This also seems more like a documentary and we are blessed that we get the man himself to play the role. This wouldn’t be anything without him in it. I so wished i didn’t miss Cardiff but at least I can watch the movie. Thanks to all involved you make rainy days bearable.
P.S. BLUE-RAY.
