About Poorspecimen

"You're a poor specimen, now get outisde and do something productive!" yelled Pat Steele to a teenage Taylor. From that moment and the young age of 13, the Poor Specimen name and logo were put on every creative endeavor Taylor experimented with. Whether it was a short film, claymation or surf movies made from VCR to VCR, all bore the name proudly. In 1991 it all changed with the release of one of Taylor's surf movies named MOMENTUM. Moving from a hobby to a career, Poor Specimen has kept it's own momentum producing over 20 movies, music videos and television shows. The goal is always to improve on the quality from the last project. We try to do this by showcasing the most progressive surfing and pushing ourselves creatively on the production side. Hope you like the movies and thanks for watching.
