The World Premiere of the Drifter in Tokyo went off. Thanks to Hurley Japan & Surfrock for putting together an epic whirlwind of events that ranged from surfing head high waves, radio shows and 800+ people showing of the Drifter.

Plus Rob and Swift rocked out some tunes from the movie to make a great premiere.

Saturday night August 22 the jury awarded the new Taylor Steele film ‘the Drifter’ with best surf film Ombak Bali 2009 out of the films which were in competition.

Quote from the jury: ‘The Drifter’ encapsulates the true essence of adventure and soul searching which is something every surfer can relate to and wants to find. People that don’t surf will also enjoy this film immensely as it showcases Indonesia, tells a serious story of Rob Machado’s life with a great mix of humor thrown in to make this film one not to be missed and a joy to watch.”

Machado taking a quick break from Drifter editing sessions flew to South America with Clay Marzo and Gabriell Villaran for some filming for CASTLES IN THE SKY

Drifter is currently being edited  in a deep dark hollywood cave. So if your in hollyweird and  you see Machado cruising around throw him a shaka.  He’s a long way from home.

Rob Machado’s new movie THE DRIFTER is finished filming. Time to lock ourselves into the edit bay. Look for it this up coming summer.
